🌍🌱 COP 28 (2/12/2023) : SIGNING OF GREENCO – ILUTE PPA : Pioneering a New Era for Open Access Electricity in Zambia

We are thrilled to announce the successful execution and signing of GreenCo’s first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Ilute Solar, a partnership between Serengeti Energy Africa and Western Power Company, at this year’s currently happening COP 28 in Dubai. This groundbreaking 25MWac Ilute Solar PV Project marks a pioneering step for open access electricity in Zambia.

Situated in Zambia’s Sesheke District, this project is a testament to innovation and collaboration. It aligns with Zambia’s 2019 legislative amendments and showcases an innovative private sector approach to financing. With direct foreign investment, Ilute Solar is not just contributing to the national grid but is also stimulating local economic growth and community involvement.
