Douglas “Pug” Bennet

Pug is the former Chief operating officer of GuarantCo’s Management Company and was involved with GuarantCo since 2007, taking GuarantCo from a trial initiative to the leading local currency guarantor in such markets. This involved the design, structuring, capitalisation and operationalisation of GuarantCo, including negotiating capital injections and guarantees to support GuarantCo’s operations and securing an external credit rating. Pug was originally a lawyer involved in African infrastructure projects, and also advised on electricity sector restructurings in various different countries, including certain states in India and California, including work on applicable Grid Codes.
