Precious Mpepele
Precious holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of South Africa. Her academic achievements are complemented by 18 years of extensive working experience in the electricity sector. Precious trained as a systems engineer at Eskom before transitioning to projects developments at BHP Billiton as a superintendent. She held various roles at South32 in projects development and commercialisation of mining, energy and decarbonisation transactions, and participated in Company representation on various industry associations in SA. In her last role prior to joining Africa GreeCo, as a director at Hillside Aluminium she was involved in aspects of business valuation, with a focus on leading electricity decarbonisation transactions and deal structures that preserve financial sustainability of the business. With South Africa transitioning to competitive liberalised electricity market, Precious’s key role at GreenCo as the Country’s commercial manager is to bring focus in executing the market penetration strategy in terms on both C&I customer acquisition and IPP procurement, by identifying business opportunities to commercialise, and cultivating the GreenCo profile as the trader/aggregator of choice in the market.
