šš± COP 28 (6/12/2023): GreenCo, AMEA Power, and ZETDC/ZESA Sign MoU
We areĀ thrilledĀ toĀ announceĀ a significant developmentĀ in Zimbabwe’s journey towards renewable energy and sustainable electricity infrastructure. At this year’s COP 28,Ā Africa GreenCo,Ā AMEA PowerĀ andĀ Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution CompanyĀ (ZETDC) – a subsidiary ofĀ ZESA Holdings,Ā signedĀ a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
TheĀ MoU aims to revolutionise the electricity sector in Zimbabwe with innovative renewable energy solutions. Our collective effort focuses on developing and implementing renewableĀ energyĀ projects, leveraging Zimbabwe’s rich solar, wind, and hydro resources.
GreenCo’s expertise in intermediary services in the energy sector across the SADC region, combined with AMEA Power’s experience in renewable energy projects and ZETDC’s technical support, marks a transformative journey towards building a robust energyĀ sectorĀ in Zimbabwe.
ThisĀ strategic collaboration goes beyond electricity generation. ItĀ isĀ about establishing a durable and diverse energy portfolio to meet Zimbabweās long-termĀ energyĀ needs, driving economic advancement, and positioning Zimbabwe towards energy self-sufficiency and a sustainable future.
